EREMURUS stenophyllus (bungei) (small image - large image) : Bright yellow florets that mature to orange. Spring, full sun, 48" - 60". We see these growing in other gardens in our area, some of the hybrids too. definitely worth a try in the Champlain Valley. I've heard about a garden near Manchester, VT where there is a spectacular spring display.

ERYNGIUM yuccifolium : Yucca-like foliage, with bur-like flowers. 36". Unique. Z4.

EUPATORIUM 'Carin' : Light silvery-pink flowers, late summer, 60"+.
