Nursery Equipment For Sale ![]()
Since we are closing the nursery at the end of the 2008 season we will have a variety of Equipment for Sale. Most will not be available until perhaps September or later, but from my experience, many of us in the industry find ourselves in a position for expansion late in the season when we see what cash remains and what time we have available.
To begin, we have some pots and media for sale now.:

We have a lighter weight winter type cover which we used as frost protection in the spring. The material is heavier than remay and has more loft.
We found these relatively quick to deploy when we got a frost warning late in the day. We spread the cover over the crop and just tucked the edges under the occasional pot at the edge of the row we were covering.... the crop held the cover down over night.
All pieces are $.50 a linear foot.

Our delivery truck is a 2004 Isuzu FRR with approx 60,000 miles and is in excellent condition. It has a lift gate. Off the road in winter too. $21,000.00

Our nursery carts fit perfectly in the truck. We have 36 to 40 each and they come with 2 moveable shelves, affording 3 shelves per cart with the base. These are galvanized and have pneumatic tires and also are in excellent condition. There are sufficient number to have the truck filled and another complement of carts in the nursery awaiting the truck's return. We'd prefer to sell the truck and carts as a system or, barring that, all the carts to single party. We have approximately 40 carts - $265.00 each.

Here's a shelf detail (red paint is a signal to us in loading the truck):

We have a few injectors. Here's an image of a portable unit ( which is SOLD):
I have 4 units for sale - 3 ea. - A40 - 2.5% NPT and an A30 - 2.5% NPT - $100.00 ea. all in good repair and recently serviced.
Here's a link to the Dosmatic page for these units.

We've used patio blocks to hold down our winter covers. We have perhaps 2,000 +/-. $.50 each - 8/12/08 - perhaps 1200 remain the others are SOLD

We have a simple system for protecting tender crops from spring frost:
We construct this frame ( approx. 60" x 96"), which gets the cover off the plants, and then...

we cover it with a light version of our winter covers. This system is also good for overwintering plants with persistant tops in the greenhouse during winter. We did so with Epimedium, Iberis, and Perovskia to name a few. The frame and covers temper rapid temperature shifts.
We'll sell these units for $10.00 each ( they connect to cover a row approx. 96" wide)
We sell spring covers for the same price as winter covers $.50 per lineal foot. Cover is approx. 12' wide.

I have a somewhat custom sprayer for sale. The tank and pump came from Oesco. It hold 25 gallons, I think. I fill it to 20 gallons and that is plenty for me to lug around the nursery. It shipped with a wheeled apparatus that failed within a couple months. I then mounted it on the garden cart with pneumatic tires. I handles much more easily and is fairly well balanced and moves through the nursery well. I have $775.00 in parts with sprayer, cart and battery, plus some labor to construct and paint the cart to seal it, which is not included. This was an enormous improvement ofver the SOLO backpack sprayer I had been using. It is in excellent condition. $350.00

I also have these poly tanks:
65 gallons - $50.00

200 gallons - $150.00

We have these concrete blocks with odd numbers painted, front and back. We found these essential for identifying locations in the nursery. Highly visible on the white background. We'd like to sell the lot numbering to 140+/- $3.00 each
